Prayer
Hoping together, shoulder to shoulder
As long as the heart
Within the Jewish souls
Yearns forward toward the East
An eye looks to Zion.
Our hope is not yet lost
Our hope is two thousand years old:
To be a free people in our land
The Land of Zion and Jerusalem.
– Hatikvah, Israelâs National Anthem
The year 2024 has been hectic and fraught. The consequences of the horrific events on October 7, 2023,
and the following war in Israel brought difficult times. First and foremost in Israel, but also in the world.
The continuing war raises lots of questions. How long before Israel will be delivered from all enemies?
When will God wipe away the tears of His people? How do we deal with the chaos that seems to confuse
this world? These are relevant questions. However, let us not lose hope. Our hope is in God, Who remains
the same yesterday, tomorrow and forever. Hope is also realizing that even though you don’t see it right
away, God is standing up for those who love Him. Hope is also holding on to God’s Word as the Truth.
Holding on to Godâs Word makes one strong and courageous, as the Jewish people have shown us during
thousands of years. Let us â together with the Jewish people â continue to hope and persevere.
Shalom,
