C4I Prayer Calendar August-September available
āI urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.ā (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Once again, the government in Israel has fallen. It is the fifth time in a short time. Sometimes one becomes discouraged. However, the Bible does not call on us to complain about the government or to ignore the whole issue. On the contrary, the Bible calls on us to pray for the government and all those in high places.
Israel faces many challenges and the threat from Iran seems to grow by the day. A stable government that takes resolute decisions is therefore an important prayer point. But at the same time let us trust that God does not depend on governments to preserve and lead Israel. The ultimate shepherd of Israel is God Himself.
āHear us, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth!ā (Psalm 80:1)
Shalom,

Note: In this prayer calendar you will find on the Shabbat days a number of prayers from the Amidah or Shemoneh Esreh, the central prayer of the Jewish liturgy. This prayer is prayed daily by the Jews. In the time of Lord Jesus this prayer was already known.
