Prayer Calendar February – March 2023 – Available

“And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’’ (Luke 18:3-5).

The introduction to this interesting parable from the Gospel of Luke is, ‘Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.’ I think that many of us have a particular prayer that we have been praying often but which has not been answered yet. This parable is a great encouragement for anyone who wrestles with unanswered prayers. It can also encourage us as we pray for Israel. We may hardly dare to hope that our prayers for peace for Israel or for the decline of antisemitism will become reality. Yet, the Bible calls us to continue in steadfast prayer.

“I call on You, my God, for You will answer me; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer” (Psalm 17:6).
